It seems all hope is not lost for avid James Gunn supporters and Guardians of the galaxy 3.
It been up to three weeks since Disney fired director James Gunn from Guardians of the Galaxy 3 over some controversial tweets and it has been a real roller coaster.
Gunn has accumulated a large number supporters following his dismissal with the Guardians of the galaxy stars releasing a statement in full support for him. Dave Bautista (who plays drax) has also been vocal about the situation, with the star coming to the defense of the director.
Well, according to Deadline, a report suggests that “back channel conversations” are taking place between Marvel and Disney, with the former trying to reach a compromise with the latter on bringing back Gunn for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. This is described as a “long shot,” but the discussion has reportedly come in the wake of the Guardians of the Galaxy actors declaring their loyalty to Gunn.
Marvel reportedly wants to move forward on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 quickly. The threequel was already set to come out sometime in 2020 but could possibly be delayed because of this debacle.
