Dave Bautista has said his piece, it now left to Disney to decide!

James Gunn was fired last month over some controversial tweets about child rape and pedophilia. The Guardians of the galaxy stars released a statement in support of Gunn early last week.

Wrestler turned actor, Dave Bautista who plays Drax has been vocal about Gunn’s firing and tweeted his disgust over Disney decision.

“Nobody’s defending his tweets, but this was a smear campaign on a good man,” he said, explaining that Gunn was targeted by right-wing activists due to his political beliefs. “I spoke to Chris Pratt the day after it happened and he’s a bit religious so he wanted time to pray and figure it out, but I was more like: f*ck this. This is bullshit. James is one of the kindest, most decent people I’ve met.”

“Where I’m at right now is that if [Marvel] don’t use that script,” he continued, “then I’m going to ask them to release me from my contract, cut me out or recast me.”

James Gunn had earlier confirmed that the first draft for GOTG 3 had been completed. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 was previously scheduled for 2020 release date with Gunn directing.

Disney has not made any announcement since the firing and might possibly do so doing the coming weeks.
