IT Chapter 2, the sequel to Warner Bros adaptation of Stephen King’s horror book IT has officially began production.
IT stomped the world last year and was a critical and financial success getting $700.3 million in box office with a budget of just $35 million. A sequel was announced to star like James McAavoy, Jessica Chastain and many others playing the adult version of the kids (Loser’s Club) in the first movie.
Taking to his Instagram account, X-men: Dark Phoenix star James McAvoy shared a behind the scene and confirmed the start of production.
Also a new image of Jessica Chastain just debuted which showcases her look in the movie.
Joining Chastain and McAvoy in It Chapter 2 are Bill Hader as Richie Tozier, Jay Ryan as Ben, Isaiah Mustafa as Mike, James Ransone as Eddie, and Andy Bean as Stanley Uris. Bill Skarsgard will also return as Pennywise with Andy Muschietti set to direct.
The sequel will follow the evil clown Pennywise returns 27 years later to torment the grown-up members of the Losers’ Club. It is expected to hit theaters September 6, 2019.
